Recently alpha-modulation spaces have found some interest among experts working with Besov or modulation spaces (an analogue of Besov spaces that can be done on general locally compact Abelian groups, introduced around 1983). I will provide some background information why their study could be helpful in learning more about construction principles, using concepts of Banach frames and Riesz projection bases.
