| - | | International Conference on Hypercomplex Analysis and its Applications Celebrating Paula Cerejeiras' 60th Birthday | Aveiro/PORTUGAL [748]
cidma-gach@ua.pt CIDMA GRUPPEN EMail
Paula Cerejeiras is one of the leading researchers in the field of hypercomplex analysis. Over the last 30 years, she made contributions to hypercomplex function theory over ternary Clifford algebras, discrete Clifford analysis, and higher-dimensional function theories with Dunkl operators, among many others. She also introduced methods from other areas like time-frequency analysis, approximation theory, and stochastic calculus into the field of hypercomplex analysis. Furthermore, her dedication and tireless work also helped build the group on hypercomplex analysis at the University of Aveiro, making it one of the well-known research centers in the area. This conference aims to celebrate her 60th birthday by joining friends, collaborators, and interested mathematicians.
The event is organized by the Complex and Hypercomplex Analysis Group (CHAG) of the Center for Research and Development in Mathematics of the University of Aveiro (CIDMA-UA). |

| - | | OWPAT1- 21st International Workshop on Operator Theory and its Applications IWOTA 2010 | Berlin[294]
Vladimir Kisil and I are organizing a special session at IWOTA 2010
(http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/iwota_2010/) in Berlin, July 12 - 16.
The topic of this Special Session is:
"The Heisenberg group for time-frequency and phase space analysis"
Many important questions of analysis are simplified as soon as "the role of the Heisenberg group" (Roger Howe) is realized. The same is true for quantum mechanics (analysis on the phase space), signal and image processing (analysis on the time-frequency space), as well as discrete function theory (link with Umbral calculus). The Heisenberg group and its representations are not only the key ingredients there,
they also provide a bridge for fruitful interactions of those
important areas. The session is aimed to explore the variety of
questions, both in continuous and discrete settings, which can be illuminated by the Heisenberg group. |

| - | | Connecting Science with Society CRIS | Aalborg, Denmark [269]
Connecting Science with Society
The Role of Research Information in a Knowledge-Based Society
10th International Conference on
Current Research Information Systems
June 2nd - 5th 2010 in Aalborg, Denmark
The CRIS 2010 conference aims to give insight into the role of CRIS in terms of shaping the research agenda and transferring research outcomes from the laboratory to areas of usage and application.
This year, the conference takes place in Aalborg, Denmark. The city of Aalborg is located at the Limfjord which connects the North Sea with the Kattegat, which itself is connected to the Baltic Sea. So the area around Aalborg is a connector of people, regions and markets. Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) play a similar role when it comes to connecting actors and communities and to bridge between demands and solutions.
Deadline for Call for papers has been extended until November 29th 2009 |
